Nasoma Project: Transforming Teaching & Learning in Tanzania Public Secondary Schools.

Camara Education Tanzania’s transformative project in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology of Tanzania. Our joint initiative aims to revolutionize education in Tanzania by providing ICT equipment to 75 carefully selected public secondary schools. This project represents a pivotal moment in the advancement of education within the country, bridging the digital divide and equipping students for success in the digital age.

Project Overview:

Camara Education Tanzania has joined forces with the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MoEST) and the President’s Office for Regional Administration &  Local Government Authorities (PO RLAG)to implement this groundbreaking initiative. This collaboration is driven by a shared commitment to providing students with access to cutting-edge ICT resources.

The school selection process will identify 75 public secondary schools across Tanzania as beneficiaries of this project from 2023 to 2028. The project will cover 11 regions (Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Lindi, Ruvuma, Rukwa, Dodoma, Kigoma, Tabora, Mwanza, Tanga, and Manyara) from all education zones, hence schools will be selected strategically to ensure a broad and equitable impact across the nation.

Technology-Enhanced Learning Environment

The cornerstone of this project involves equipping each selected school with a fully furnished networked Computer lab with 25 desktop computers and a classroom server loaded with offline learning resources. This deployment will empower students and teachers alike with the tools they need to excel in today’s technology-driven world.

Recognizing the importance of effective ICT integration, Nasoma includes comprehensive training programs for educators, students, and school leaders. These programs will ensure that teachers are proficient in utilizing the equipment to enhance their teaching methods, ultimately benefiting the students, while school leaders have the capacity to design, plan and implement initiatives that support ICT integration in their schools.

Building ICT Sustainability

Sustainability is a core focus of this project, we are committed to building sustainable ICT ecosystems within the beneficiary schools. Thus, our partnership with MoE and PO RLAG will ensure each party fulfils their role in supporting ICT integration in all 75 secondary schools. Whereby,  MoE will provide support, guidance, and oversight to the project partners in ensuring that the implementation of the project is as per the country’s education policy,  PO RLAG will ensure all schools with computer laboratories have qualified ICT teachers to enable the delivery of computer and information studies subjects (ICS); and Camara Education Tananzania apart from set computer lab will providing ongoing maintenance, technical support, and the replenishment of resources to ensure the long-term success of the initiative. Project Report
