Big Give
Project Over View
The Big Give project aims to enhance the integration of technology in 40 secondary schools. These schools already had computer labs funded by Camara, the government and other stakeholders, but they were facing several challenges in utilizing them.
The project targeted schools with at least 10 computers or more in 14 regions (Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Morogoro, Iringa, Arusha, Manyara, Mtwara, Ruvuma, Dodoma, Iringa, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Pwani and Mbeya. Read More
Learn Kernel
This project’s aim was to pilot the use of Learn Kernel device, a low pilot project, St Francis of Padua Primary School received 75 Learn Kernel devices loaded with STEM learning videos. The school also received comprehensive teacher training and support for three months from October 2021 to Jan 2022.
The results from monitoring and evaluation of this pilot indicated that students’ engagement and understanding were boosted by the use of the devices. On top of that, students performed better on topics delivered using the devices compared to other topics. Read More
KitKit Schools
The pilot project was co-funded by Camara, Enuma, and generous support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)—the pilot aimed at designing a scalable and sustainable model which could be replicated in other schools.
The project was implemented for three months at Twiga Primary School in Dar es Salaam with 327 students from classes 1 – 3 using 100 tablets for 40 minutes a day. Schools in Tanzania are often located in undeserved areas, beyond the reach of traditional network infrastructure. Skills for their Future
This project was funded by Their World and implemented by BRAC Tanzania and Camara Education Tanzania. Our role was to install the Kolibri platform on 20 laptops, load the provided digital content, and train teachers on how to use Kolibri.
The project was implemented at Temeke Secondary School in Dar Es Salaam and our role was to install and configure the Kolibri learning platform and train teachers on how to use it for improving girls’ learning outcomes.
